We've all had our fair share of horrible chat-up lines.
And most of the time, they simply don't work.
Well, actor Josh Duhamel should have kept that in mind while trying to chat up Fergie...
You see, he nearly blew his first encounter with the singer - who's now his girlf - when she had a guest appearance on his show Las Vegas back in September 2004.
He told Best Life magazine: "I was walking out, and all of a sudden she was walking toward me.
"I was like, 'Oh boy.' She stopped. And this is so sad, but I said - in this desperate voice - 'You're hot!'"
Josh continued: "(She's) the crush of a lifetime, and that was my line!"
"She's a real total star. She's just got a great soul."
Good thing Fergie's a gem of a lass and we may have made a passing comment once before that Josh isn't a bad looking fella, either.
