During the Christmas speech, Marge Simpson compared her relationship with husband Homer to that of Victoria and David, telling viewers, "Our union is as solid as the union between your David and Posh Spice. Oh, he did that? With his assistant? That's so sad, OK, moving on."

Rob Schneider Questions Dina Lohan's Parenting

Lindsay was due to appear on The Tonight Show just hours after she was detained by police for DUI last Tuesday night. Schneider stood in, dressed as the actress, and subsequently became the target of an e-mail rant from Dina.

In her missive to Access Hollywood, Dina wrote, "We are disappointed... (host Jay Leno) chose to allow a guest to make light of a very serious situation concerning Lindsay.

"This is a very personal and private matter and our only concern is to get Lindsay the help that she needs."

But Schneider is unperturbed by the angry response, saying, "When Mrs. Lohan stops partying with her child, then I'll have an ounce of respect for her."

And he was equally unsympathetic about Lindsay's plight, adding, "I don't care if her parents are both crummy--you cannot blame your parents anymore. She's not a kid.

"I hope she does okay but at a certain point, there's so many bigger problems in the world than Lindsay Lohan. I hope she gets her head out of her nice, cute little rear end and finds a life for herself.

Rob Schneider Raises Laughs as Lindsay Lohan

Rob Schneider

HOLLYWOOD - Rob Schneider donned heels, lipstick, a black-and-white designer dress, blonde wig and an alcohol-detecting ankle clamp to appear as Lindsay Lohan on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday.

The funnyman was a last-minute replacement for the troubled actress, who pulled out of a scheduled appearance on the late-night talk show following a DUI and drug-possession arrest earlier in the day.

And he made the most of his appearance--pretending to be the embattled Mean Girls star.

As Lohan, the comic joked, "I was up late last night," and when host Leno stated his guest didn't look herself, the Deuce Bigalow star added, "You do gain about 10 pounds in the camera and you guys got about 10 cameras here."

Commenting on Lohan's drunk-driving arrest, Schneider quipped, "I'm Irish and, for the Irish, St. Patty's Day (St. Patrick's Day) is, like, all summer--March 17th and woooooh, see you in September.

"I was so wasted I was in my car and I couldn't find my car. I was messed up. I was actually wearing a diaper."

Midway through the hilarious interview, Schneider took off his alcohol-monitoring ankle clamp to reveal it doubled as a whiskey flask.

Schneider also took the opportunity to boast about the size of his manhood, quipping, "Rob Schneider asked me out one time; such a silly little man. I did hear, though, that he has the biggest penis in Hollywood."

Hayden Panettiere
HOLLYWOOD - Actress Hayden Panettiere hates being called "the next Lindsay Lohan"--because she wants to be famous for acting and not partying.

Like Lohan, the Heroes actress was a child star and acted in commercials before graduating to adult roles--but she insists that's where the comparison ends.

Panettiere says, "I don't have anything mean to say about Lindsay. The thing about this business is, when you're a young person--generally a young woman--you get pigeonholed. When you don't fall off your horse right away, people will try to knock you off.

"For example, the other day I was walking out of a bar in Hollywood, El Scorpio, with some of my Heroes castmates. Someone drove by and shouted, 'Give them hell, Lindsay!' I said, 'Please don't call me Lindsay.' It's sickening that people want to knock me down. They don't know me!"

'Simpsons Movie' Bosses Beat Cybersquatter

HOLLYWOOD - Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation has won a battle over rights to the domain name of The Simpsons Movie, after a cybersquatter used the Web site for sexually explicit material.

The film giant filed a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) over the use of the film's name in the Internet address of a site registered by Keith Malley of New York. He had posted graphic images of the yellow cartoon family in sexual positions on it.

Earlier this week, however, WIPO ruled ownership must be handed back to Twentieth Century Fox, which owns the rights to both the new film and TV series.

Malley was deemed to have "no rights or legitimate interests with respect to the domain name" and was ordered to return it immediately.

WIPO added Malley's "aim in registering the disputed domain name was to profit from and exploit" Twentieth Century Fox's trademark to promote its own interests.

Homer's Odyssey Leads to Box Office Gold

LOS ANGELES - By weekend's end, The Simpsons Movie should be rolling in plenty of d'oh.

After 18 years as a bulwark of the Fox network, America's favorite two-dimensional family is making its first appearance on the big screen, and the curiosity factor alone should propel the 20th Century Fox release to the top box office spot in North America.

While the studio is cautiously hoping that the movie opens in the mid-$30 million range, it could easily shoot into $40 million territory, possibly hitting the $50 million mark.

Warner Bros. Pictures' restaurant-set romance No Reservations also bows this weekend and will be looking for female moviegoers in the mood for an adult love story. But with a crowded field of holdovers jostling for attention, Reservations might find cracking the top five a challenge.

As for the weekend's other two wide releases--the golfing comedy Who's Your Caddy? and the Lindsay Lohan suspense thriller I Know Who Killed Me--they will be lucky if they make it into the bottom rungs of the top 10.

Certainly, no one in America needs an introduction to the Simpsons. David Silverman directs the film, in which Homer and family bump up against the environment and other hot-button topics.

While there always is a question about how many fans will show up for a movie based on a TV series that is going strong in first-run and syndication, the fact that the Simpsons' fan base rushed the dozen 7-Eleven locations in North America that were outfitted as Kwik-E-Marts is a good omen.

If there's one softness in The Simpsons Movie's tracking, it's older women, which provides an opening for Reservations, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart as top chefs who become romantically involved between courses. The PG-rated film is directed by Scott Hicks (Shine) and is based on Sandra Nettelbeck's 2001 German film Mostly Martha.

The film could find itself hovering around the $8 million-$10 million mark. Whether it breaks into the top five will depend on the relative strengths of Universal Pictures' reigning champ I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and New Line Cinema's Hairspray, both in their second weekend; Warners' Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, in its third round; and Paramount's Transformers, in its fourth stand. They all likely will be checking in amid the $10 million-$20 million range.

On the lower end of the spectrum, Sony Pictures' I Know Who Killed Me and Lionsgate's Caddy are not expected to rise above the $5 million mark.

An R-rated thriller, and yet another tale of abduction and torture, Killed got an unexpected burst of publicity this week when Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and cocaine possession. The film still faces an uphill struggle because genre fans have cooled to hard-R serial killer tales of late.

Caddy, a PG-13 comedy starring OutKast hip-hop star Antwan 'Big Boi' Patton as a rap mogul who forces his way into a conservative country club, is aimed squarely at the black, family audience.
