Sources at TV network CBS, which airs the weekly show, claim executives could write the actor out of the upcoming third season on the series as a result of his reluctance to join his castmates.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Patinkin chose not to show for the read-through meeting after realizing his case-cracking character, Jason Gideon, was being written out of the show.
This follows friction between the star and producers last summer over alleged salary issues.

Oh, I hope he goes back to whoever produced "Dead Like Me" and that show gets revived. I don't mind that it's been a few years since the last season.
