Kim Porter: 'Split with Diddy Was in My Family's Best Interests'

HOLLYWOOD - Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ex-girlfriend Kim Porter has broken her silence over her split from the rap mogul, insisting the decision was in her family's "best interests."

Combs' spokeswoman, Keesha Johnson, officially announced the news on Tuesday, five days after the hip-hop star blasted rumors of a separation.

And actress/model Porter hinted of an amicable split as she gave her reasons for the break-up.

She tells TV's Entertainment Tonight, "After 10 years, I have decided to end my on-again/off-again relationship with Sean 'Diddy' Combs. In ending this relationship, I made a decision that was in the best interest of myself, Sean and our family.

"I look forward to moving on with my life and my career, and wish him prosperity, health and happiness in life and in love. We will remain friends and committed parents to our children."

Porter--who has three children with Combs, 9-year-old son Christian and newborn twin daughters D'Lila Star and Jessie James--reportedly moved out of the New York City apartment she shared with the rap star earlier this month.

Combs has recently been romantically linked to British actress Sienna Miller.
