Angel--real name Christopher Sarantakos--has been accused by Sarantakos of failing to support her financially during their five-year marriage.
In court papers filed at Nassau County Court in New York last month, she also claims Angel kept their marriage a secret from his family.
But Angel has branded the allegations "lies," saying he has always paid for her "every expense."
He says, "It is with great sadness and disappointment that I feel the need to dignify and refute the inaccuracies, blatant lies and misrepresentations that my estranged wife and her attorney made last week in a New York courtroom and continue to make in the press.
"When she filed her complaint over one year ago, and when she amended it twice, she made no mention of alleged adultery or lack of financial support.
"I have always supported Joanne's every expense. Essentially, I have paid for her every expense. Her claim that she was my 'secret' wife is preposterous and inaccurate. Our marriage was well known to my friends and all of my fans worldwide. She was featured prominently in the first two seasons of my (Mindfreak) show. She and her family were thanked and credited in every episode and in my recent autobiography."

I have never met either Joanne or Criss Sarantakos, however I am a loyal Criss Angel fan,so perhaps I am a tad biased.
I have no doubt that over the years Criss was a handful. He would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. He has now certainly surpassed his childhood ambitions and beyond. Sometimes that changes a man no matter how wonderful he may be.
In that respect I feel sorry for her.
What I do not understand is, WHY if she indeed loves him would she file for divorce not once but twice? If I were she I would fight tooth and nail to keep him in my life regardless of whom he had allegedly spent time with.
Also if money is not the issue, why did her second petition come on the heels of his 200 million dollar contract with the Luxor? And may I add that's sue for divorce not merely file.
It's only my opinion of course and certainly not my business.
I wish Joanne all the best.
Criss I will continue to support you and your career for many, many years to come.
May you get through all of this with nary a scratch.
Peace, Brenda
