It's disco balls at dawn.
Yup, we're all set for a popworld showdown.
And guess who'll be piling in to the ring?
In one corner it's pops veterans the Spice Girls.
And in the other it's the relative newbies, Girls Aloud.
We smell a storm a brewing between the girl bands.
And it's all been kicked off by Louis Walsh.
He's been flapping his gums in a uncomplimentary stylee about the Spices.
Louis told Star magazine: "They're not as good as Girls Aloud - or as good-looking."
"The Spice Girls are very lucky and very overrated. None of them can sing and their music is not half as good as Girls Aloud's.
"Spice Girls appealed to little girls. It wasn't good music - mums would buy the albums for their kids - it was all about the gimmicks.
"None of them can stand on their own. Nadine from Girls Aloud could definitely go solo - she's the one with the talent and will have a successful solo career.
"None of the Spice Girls could do that."
And dare we ask what he thinks to their reunion?
"They have nothing else to do, nothing else is happening in their lives. One's just a wife of a footballer and the others are not on the radar.
"They're well past their sell-by dates. I'm sick of them, like I'm sick of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Let's focus on people with talent and the next big thing."
