Is Paris Hilton finally talking sense?
She says she doesn't want to be ridiculed any more.
The jailed socialite plans to use her fame to do good, when she's released from prison.
Speaking to E! News' Ryan Seacrest from her cell at the Century Regional Correctional Facility, the heiress told of how she has learnt to appreciate "things I took for granted".
She also said she was going to use her celebrity status "in a good way".
"I'm so much more grateful for everything that I have, even just to have a pillow at night or food.
"You know my gratitude has gone up so much and I just realise that the media used me to make fun of and be mean about it.
"It's hard but I'm stronger everyday."
And despite rumours of a celebration when Paris is released, The Simple Life star says, simply:
"I just can't wait to see my family and have a nice meal and be in my own bed and appreciate all the things I took for granted and never really thought much about."
If she's set to leave next week, as some reports state, for good behaviour, Miss Hilton could become a veritable Angelina Jolie in a matter of weeks.
