HEIRESS Paris Hilton was behind bars yesterday after pouting for the most glam jail mugshot ever.

The socialite sobbed as she was booked and fingerprinted after turning herself in for a 23-day sentence.

She drove with younger sister Nicky and mum Kathy in two large blacked-out 4x4 motors to be booked at a Los Angeles men’s jail in a bid to foil photographers.

Then Paris, 26, was taken to a women-only detention centre in Lynwood, California, to serve her sentence for breaking a driving ban.

Kathy, 48, and Nicky, 23, were thought to have been allowed a brief visit to Paris before she was taken down to her cell after she had faced a humiliating strip-search.

A spokesman for the LA Sheriff’s Department said: "She has been co-operative, focused and calm. She will do fine if she follows the rules."

Sexy Paris will swap designer gear for a jumpsuit and three basic meals a day.

If she takes a shower she will have to watch out for groups of "very masculine" lesbians.

But the pampered princess is determined to keep up her bronzed look – she has asked for a visit from her favourite tanning salon.

She is thought to be spending 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, with an hour to shower, use the phone or watch TV, as there is enough space for her not to have to share with a cellmate. If that changes she will move in with someone hand-picked by jail officials.
