The 36-year-old has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for ending his marriage to wife Melanie, according to legal papers filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Knoxville is seeking joint custody of the couple's daughter. He will also pay spousal support, reports Web site TMZ.com.
