Isaiah Washington Blames Patrick Dempsey for Feud

Isaiah Washington

HOLLYWOOD - Isaiah Washington has blamed his former Grey's Anatomy costar Patrick Dempsey's poor time-keeping for the furious bust-up that cost him his job on the show.

Washington was eventually fired from the hospital drama after he was accused of using a homophobic slur against gay castmember T.R. Knight.

But the actor tells talk-show host Larry King he used the word during a feud with Dempsey after he become fed up with his constant lateness and confronted him. He claims Knight was never involved, and he never directed a gay slur at Knight.

Washington says, "He became unhinged, sprayed spittle in my face. I'm asking him why is he screaming at me... He just becomes irate. I said several bad words.

"There's no way you're going to treat me like the B-word, the P-word or the F-word."

He insisted the 'F-word’ was not intended as a gay slur--but used to imply "somebody who is being weak."
