LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 23, 2007) — Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines is the latest celebrity to catch “Legendary Bingo” fever!
Legendary Bingo has been a weekly staple in Los Angeles for years, renowned for its charity fund-raising, celebrity appearances, and drag queen number callers.
Maines attended last night’s games, where she posed for a photo with professional performer Bridgette of Madison County!
Legendary Bingo producer Jeffrey Bowman (a.k.a “Bingo Boy“) told Access Hollywood that celebrities are attracted to the games because they are left alone to simply have a fun time. Last week, British singer Robbie Williams got in on the bingo action.
Last night’s games benefited the Voice for the Animals Foundation, and Natalie won the first game of the evening!
“She was one of the most normal, nicest people I’ve ever met,” said Bowman. So nice and normal, in fact, that he didn’t even realize it was her until she won.
Unfortunately for Natalie, she wasn’t the night’s BIG winner — that distinction went to another player who drew the higher ball in a final face off between the two. But that doesn’t mean she left empty handed!
Natalie reached into the “Bingo Bag of Crap” (as it is known) to retrieve her consolation prize - a tiny lunch box filled with Tootsie Pops.
“Hey, that ain’t crap!” Natalie said, according to Bowman.
Natalie had such a good time, she approached Bowman about arranging another Legendary Bingo evening.
“She asked if we would consider doing a wild bingo night for one of her favorite charities,” said Bowman, “and that she would come and call the balls with the drag queen.”
