Reports suggested Hilton attempted to check into the Four Seasons and the Fairmont Kea Lani upon her arrival in Maui last week, but they turned her down.
But aide Elliot Mintz has confirmed his client simply appeared to be checking into the two luxury hotels in an effort to give the paparazzi the slip.
Mintz says, "She spent all her time at a private residence."
The publicist also denies stories Hilton spent her nights partying with locals, insisting the socialite spent most of her time alone with on-off boyfriend Stavros Niarchos.
