Michael Jackson to Buy Maryland Vacation Home

Michael Jackson

HOLLYWOOD - Michael Jackson is house-hunting for a holiday home on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

The “Thriller” singer already has a rented home in Las Vegas and still owns his abandoned Neverland Ranch in California, despite false rumors that he is selling the huge estate.

Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone Bain, has confirmed reports the pop star had been spotted looking at waterfront mansions in Maryland last month.

Bain said Jackson spent "about 24 hours" on the peninsula but has yet to make a purchase.

Bain told the Washington Post that Jackson wants an East Coast base because "the majority of his advisers and attorneys are on the East Coast. He's always admired the properties on the East Coast because they have a lot of land. Neverland has 3,000 acres--he likes privacy. You can't find as many properties like that on the West Coast."
