Britney to duet with Marilyn

TROUBLED Britney Spears is to resurrect her career by singing a duet with Marilyn Monroe.

Britney is being lined up to join the late sex symbol in a rendition of an unreleased Marilyn song Down Boy.

The Toxic singer, 25, is even said to be planning to dress like Marilyn – who died aged 36 in 1962.

Britney will wear a platinum wig and 50s-style white dress for the video shoot, sources claimed.

The career move comes after it emerged that Lance Bass, 28 – former *NSYNC bandmate of her ex-lover Justin Timberlake, 26 – has secured the rights to Down Boy.

A source said: "Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on Unforgettable with her dad Nat King Cole."

Britney, who has recently had a spell in rehab, is said to be a huge fan of actress Marilyn, who died of an apparent drug overdose.

Britney is also working hard on an album, set for release around October.

And she is setting up dates for a comeback tour across America.

Britney’s spokesman was not available for comment last night.
