Elton John Blasts 'Racist' Imus

HOLLYWOOD - Music legend Elton John has slammed shamed talk-show host Don Imus for his on-air racial slur, insisting he should have quit his post before he was fired.

The disgraced presenter was dropped by radio bosses at CBS and NBC after calling the players on Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy headed hos" during a morning broadcast earlier this month. He has since apologized.

But the “Rocket Man” hitmaker believes Imus should have resigned from his post before the show was axed last Friday, reports the New York Daily News.

He also dedicated a song to the Rutgers players at a Beverly Hills fundraiser for the Women's Sports Foundation last week.
